Date night isn’t always about finding a dimly lit and ultra-exclusive spot – sometimes it is simply a cozy space and clean table where we can discuss the week’s events, share a joke and hold hands. Delicious food is, however, a non-negotiable.
Don just started in a new position and we are in the Menlyn Maine area this evening, where I meet him after work.
We’ve been wanting to try out Ribs & Burgers – located opposite his building – with the enticing look of a big city street side eatery.
Ribs & Burgers has an extensive selection of beverages, including craft beers, wines, and signature cocktails to complement your meal. We are feeling adventurous and opt for some cocktails to start off with. Looking at the neighbouring tables – the handcrafted milkshakes look especially inviting and adds a bit of a nostalgic twist. But we stick to our decision of some starter cocktails, followed by a bottle of Peacock Merlot by Waterkloof Wines, and Don describes his new colleagues and relays the office news.
We glance at the diverse menu – whether you’re a meat enthusiast or a vegetarian, the menu has something for everyone. The star attractions are, of course, the ribs and burgers. The ribs, slow-cooked to perfection, are a true delight for meat lovers (such as ourselves) and we decide to share a rack of the Pork St. Louis for starters.
For mains, we opt for burgers – Don chooses a Wagyu Truffle and Swiss cheese burger and I indulge in a juicy, handcrafted (NAKED!) lamb burger.
Vegetarians need not worry – Ribs & Burgers offers delicious veggie burgers and salads that are just as satisfying. The chefs take pride in using high-quality, fresh ingredients to ensure a burst of flavor in every bite.
One of the standout features of Ribs & Burgers that we absolutely loved is the friendly and attentive service. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations. There is a true commitment to customer satisfaction and a culture of service here.
We have our Decaf Americanos with pouring cream and head to the parking lot in the colourful light effects of the casino across the road, feeling satisfied.
PS: at the time of publication – if you are an employee at one of the neighbouring buildings, Ribs & Burgers Menlyn Maine offers a 10% discount on their lunch menu. Any corporates in the area – simply bring your access card to claim your discount.
