This evening we walk through Town Square at the Mall of Africa, and it is lit up beautifully. The restaurants line each side with water fountains in the middle. We contemplate the different restaurants trying to pick one. There are a couple of options, some of which we have been to before. Kream looks very intimate and inviting. The upstairs balcony beckons us closer. After settling in at the corner table our waitress comes over to introduce herself and offers us the menu.

Amanda is in the mood for Oysters and enquires if they are fresh. This will also determine our drinks order. Yes, they are, and thus a bottle of L’Ormarins Brut Classique. The appetizer is delicious and pairs well with the MCC. We continue to sip our drinks and wonder what we will have next. The headwaiter is well versed in the blackboard specials, and I listen attentively. I am nightshade intolerant, so I am a little wary of certain dishes.

I think I will go with the 250g Rump, medium to rare, with a Blue Cheese sauce and a half Greek salad as a side. The steak is served with parmesan and watercress drizzled with balsamic reduction. The different flavours complement each other, and the taste lingers. I savour every bite. Amanda has the Thai seafood salad. Smoked salmon, grilled prawns, and crab sticks on top of cucumber spaghetti with lettuce and avocado. I must admit looking at it I have food envy.

We continue to relish our meals and discuss our thoughts and ideas with optimism. The food is tasty, and the night drifts on by. We are soon satisfied. Two decaf americanos with pouring cream will round it off perfectly. This time of the year you can feel the change of season in the evening air. As the chill sets in we bid our farewells and saunter off into the night to cuddle up somewhere warm.
