Dos manos; meaning two hands in Spanish; is known for being a pizzeria but creates an assortment of amazing dishes. It sits on the highest point of Melville and has breathtaking views.
We fight some awful traffic to get there on time and manage to catch a fleeting glimpse of the last rays of a magnificent sunset. The evening twilight is so stunning that we decide to have our drinks out on the deck. I order a bottle of Villiera Merlot. It is a bright red wine and shows hints of wood spice and red berry fruit on the nose. On the palate, it is rich and full, with soft tannins. We snuggle up and admire the spectacular vista.

Not long after the sun drops below the horizon the chill sets in, and we move to our inside table. The dimly lit interior and soft background music add to the mood.

Our waiter makes a couple of off-menu suggestions that we promptly select. For starters, Amanda orders a truffle-infused exotic mushroom and garlic dish. It seems to be the Frankie wild pizza without the base. I am tempted by the Karoo lamb chops.

The owner Louis comes over to find out how we are doing and top up our drinks.
For mains, señora has the wood-fired sea bass which is served with thyme, lemon, tomato, and garlic butter. I have what is specified on the menu as SOB. My guess would be ‘son of a butcher’. It is a 30-day aged sirloin on the bone prepared with their signature dry rub butter and served with cauliflower and broccoli.

The food is delicious, the flavours are incredible.
After dinner Louis invites us to have a nightcap at the bar before he shows us around the hotel. The rooms are beautiful, and we regret not making arrangements to stay over.
Thank you, Pablo House, for your generosity and hospitality. Buenas noches y nos vemos pronto.
