Boasting accolades like “Best Restaurant of Cape Town Award*”, this is without a doubt one of the best fine-dining experiences we have ever had. From the moment you walk through the front door, your senses are treated to an endless delight. Not just appetizing flavours, but beautiful displays, tantalizing aromas, and soothing music. This Claremont Restaurant is situated at the beautiful 5-Star Andros Deluxe Boutique Hotel.

Our server Holly welcomes us and shows us to the best table. She explains the 8-course dinner menu, Chef’s Odyssey, and what they have done to accommodate my nightshade allergy. With each course, Natash, the wine steward, makes sure there is a superb wine pairing and a tale to be told.
Matt recalls the story of how his father would dip bread into a pan of leftover braaivleis and how this inspired him to create the Boerewors Roll which, without giving the secret away, is a creative and unique way of serving this dish. Along with that, you will also have a carpaccio concealed in a red onion.

The Head Chef Wesley Peters comes out to greet us and tells us all about their new South African-inspired menu. While talking to him you realise how passionate he is about what he does and how he finds inspiration everywhere.
Between starters and mains, we are presented with a Love Potion. Made from the Eugenia berry, Amanda remembers eating as a child. One of our other dishes is an Electric Daisy. Also known as a buzz button, it gives a prickly feeling when chewed and swirled around in the mouth before causing a numbing sensation. The Olive Chocolate Garden is served in a bowl with smoke billowing out giving it a mystical illusion.

The Front of House Manager KB has done a fantastic job of arranging the whole evening for us. He comes over to see us off. We thank him for his hospitality and bid him farewell. We embark on the journey back to Hout Bay. It is a beautiful forest drive over Constantianek through leafy suburbs and picturesque surroundings.
