What better way to celebrate Valentine’s day than to go for dinner and a movie? The restaurant of choice this evening is Piza ē Vino at Irene Village Mall. The mall boasts tranquil water features, beautiful gardens and hundreds of trees. Contemporary architecture and unique sculptures.
The restaurant interior is a mixture of Industrial and Rustic design. With lots of leather, wood, brick, glass and parquet flooring. They even have a private dining room with a graffiti wall.

We arrive early and while it is still quiet we take the opportunity to get some photos. In the process, we decide to order the Spier Merlot and sparkling water.

Our waiter brings the drinks and leaves us to browse the menu. We start to discuss the Universal Law of Cause and Effect. We wonder how the philosophers of old came up with this stuff. The waiter hovers occasionally to see if we are ready to place our food order. Eventually, we realise that if we want to catch the movie we will have to do just that.
The Blue Margarita Pizza on a Paleo Base and Halloumi and Avo salad without the sweetcorn. To share. And don’t forget the condiments. Garlic and parmesan enhance the already good flavours. Combined with the wine, it is incredible.

Our timing is perfect, without rushing, we will still make the show. We settle the bill and stroll into the cinema. The obvious choice is the romantic comedy, Ticket to Paradise. Set in Bali and starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney. But before we start, you can’t forget the popcorn. And of course a loveseat at Ster Kinekor is a must.
Even though it was a film that received mixed reviews from critics, I feel it was the perfect post-romantic dinner experience. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone, I hope that you all experience and appreciate love in your life.
