Finally, with no other interruptions, we get to go to Capito tonight. They used to be Capeesh in Brooklyn, Pretoria. And about 5 years ago they decided to move to The Club in Hazelwood.

Amanda reserves a table for us. As we enter the neighbourhood we notice the power is off. Everything pretty much works though except for the street lights and escalators.
The square in front of the restaurants is adorned with fairy lights giving it a very festive feel. It is a hot and humid summer evening. There is some cloud cover and a slight breeze blowing. Almost like a storm is brewing. This all blended gives it a romantic mood.
Our host and sommelier Frans welcomes us outside with Prosecco Aperitifs. We are well looked after. Before you know it we have fresh oysters to go with the bubbly. And you know what they say: ‘Life is too short to not have oysters and champagne sometimes’.

After moving to our inside table Frans comes around to enquire about our choice of wine. We always go with his recommendation. Tonight it is the Le Chant Rouge. A Bordeaux Blend with notes of red fruits and spices. It pairs well with Beef, lamb, Veal and Pork.

Our waiter Nicholas suggests the Costata Alla Fiorentina 500g T-bone for me. And Amanda is persuaded to try the Barramundi Beurre Blanc. The wine and food combination is outstanding, along with the atmosphere and company. Oh, how fast the evening passes.

At some point the power returns and all of a sudden the lights are very bright. Quickly they are dimmed and we return to our serene state.
We send our compliments to the chef. He comes out to greet us and we snap a quick photo with chef Pellie Grobler.

To end the evening off Amanda has a Cappuccino and I savour the last drop of Le Chant.
