Amanda has a wedding on the 31st of December, so we decide on doing a pre–New Year’s Eve celebration and date night combined. We haven’t been to Lynnwood Bridge for a long time. Coincidentally we had our first date here 8 years ago almost to the day. The center is lit up beautifully with fairy lights. So many restaurants look so inviting that we choose to do each course at a different place.
Firstly, we give Stephnie’s a try. We order a bottle of Pongrácz Méthode Cap Classique Brut. There is an interesting story behind MCC for those that do not know. According to the Pongrácz website, Champagne and Cap Classique are made using the same French process called “methode champenoise”. Champagne is a region in France producing world-class sparkling wines. Since 1992, no one has been allowed to label their sparkling wines as “champagne” unless it was produced in this region. Cap Classique is the South African version of champagne, and the term is derived from “cape classic”.
We order the cheese platter which as stated on the menu, “Serves 4. Or two hungry people”. It is quite large. We do enjoy our cheese. One thing we think they can add to the platter is an Onion Marmalade. Of course, we do not eat all the crackers and save some space for the next course.
We notice Cowfish across the square and remember that we have not had sushi in a while. We finish our MCC and stroll over. The 6-piece Love Roll sounds amazing. It tastes amazing as well. How can you go wrong with Salmon, Crab, Prawn, Rocket, Avo and Coriander?
For dessert we find ourselves sitting at Tribeca Standard and ordering our usual. A decaf cappuccino with almond milk and a carafe of the house red. Once again, a wonderful evening. Au revoir à bientôt.
