Tis the season to be merry. This year it has sneaked up on us like every other year since being an adult with children. Trying to conclude work and entertain the little ones who are on school holiday. I would say it is a rather busy time of the year.
My love languages are Quality time and Physical touch. So for me, Christmas is about spending time together with loved ones. More so than receiving gifts. I know everyone has different love languages. Some people would rather receive gifts. That is what makes us all different and unique. Understanding this and respecting it, although sometimes not easy, is key to getting along.
Amanda shares my love languages and that is probably why we enjoy spending time together and treasure our date nights.
We decided to do a Christmas edition date night. So we donned something festive and went to Lupa Midstream. They have a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
The real story is that we went there for photos earlier in the afternoon before it got busy. Then we decided it was so wonderful that we reserved the same table for later the evening.
For the photo shoot, we enjoyed a bottle of Valdo Prosecco Rose. The staff were so accommodating, moving chairs and tables around.
Later in the evening after a wardrobe change, we went back for part 2.
For starters, we order the Gorgonzola snails to share. To drink, a bottle of the Villiera Merlot and sparkling water. We are undecided about what to order for mains and consult our waiter. We opt to share the Tripple Roasted Duck.
At some point, the lights go out briefly before the generator kicks in. Nobody seems to notice anymore. We continue planning our Christmas eve party, which by the way is at our house.
For dessert, Amanda decides to be adventurous and tries the Cremino Al Cioccolato. It sounds and looks amazing, but I order the usual. A carafe of the Lupa Merlot.
It is late and we are gratified. Reluctantly we make our way back home.
We wish you all a blessed time, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
